RMMC Speakers' Bureau Procedure
The RMMC office will contact the institutional representative in the Spring requesting a list of names and possible topics of those who wish to be included in the speakers' bureau list for the following academic year. While any speaker is free to decline any invitation to speak, by putting his or her name on the list, they are stating that in general they are agreeable to traveling to different schools within the Consortium. This list is not ment to be inclusive and any faculty or visiting faculty member from a member institution may be invited. The list of speakers offering to speak during the following year will be distributed to the representatives in May.
Each member institution is permitted to apply for travel support, for one speaker, once every two years. The amount for travel, not to exceed coach airfare, is limited to $800.00. The annual budget limit is $4,000.00 and awards will be given on a first-come first-served basis.
The school contacts the speaker; if he or she accepts the invitation, the school should contact the RMMC office by email (rmmc@asu.edu) and advise the name of the speaker, the amount to be paid, and to whom the payment should be sent (the speaker, the department, or host institution.)
